Naples Airport (APF)

The most direct way to get into Naples is certainly the Naples Municipal Airport. It is only five miles from downtown Naples and it gets you as close to the heart of the city as possible.

APF is, for better or worse, a private airport, and has restricted public access. Only a number of dedicated flights carry into APF, so this means utilizing a small charter domestic service. The airport is used by Naples Jet Center, Naples Air, and Gulf Coast Airways. These airlines often leave out of Orlando, but due to the small size of the organizations, all can be quoted on customized flight plans.

While this may make APF seem small, it is rather well-trafficked. It hosts about 100,000 aviation takeoffs and landings annually, and its small size contributes to you and your crew getting in and out quickly and efficiently.

Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW)

The Southwest Florida International Airport, or RSW, is the leading option for commercial flights. It is about 45 minutes south of Naples, in Fort Myers, which may seem like a lengthy ride. Despite this, it is still the closest commercial airport to the city.

Both Spirit and Frontier utilize RSW almost daily, making it an excellent option for the budget-conscious traveler. Frontier has historically flown from Cincinnati, Denver, Chicago, St. Louis, D.C., Cleveland, and Trenton, among others.

Directions

Thankfully, there is only one major entry point to Naples. This is via I-75 southbound from Fort Myers. You can also carry I-75 eastbound from Miami, taking you through the heart of the Florida Everglades within the Big Cypress National Preserve. It is a dense and quiet ride, and the only major road east to Naples.

To get into Naples proper, we suggest using Exit 105 off I-75. Carry this west on Golden Gate Parkway briefly and then merge onto U.S. 41, locally known as Tamiami Trail. This will take you right into the downtown of Naples.
