History
The history of the Park starts with John W. Gates, an amazing businessman who lived from 1855 to 1911. He was one of the founders of Texaco along with many other accomplishments. He was a great gambler and ended up having a worth of $100 million when he died.
His favorite niece was Dellora Angell. She was only ten years old when her uncle died, but she inherited a fortune. When she grew up, she married Lester J. Norris and they spent their lives doing great things around the world with that money. They donated much of the money to parks, hospitals, community organizations, and other charities around the world. They donated a lot of money to the Wiggins Pass State Park, and it was renamed in their honor.
The other half of the park was named after Mr. Wiggins, the pioneer that lived what is now known as Wiggins Pass. The entire park is named after different people that have made it the way it is today.
Many people love the name of the park because of the rich history behind its story. This area is so popular for so many things today, including sunbathing, swimming, beachcombing, snorkeling, and picnicking. Fishing is even allowed on the North End of the park! This attraction has become a famous spot in Southwest Florida and is also amazing for watching sunsets.

The park is open from 8 a.m. until sundown every single day of the year.
It also has very reasonable costs which include $6 per vehicle. This includes any vehicle that has 2-8 people within it. It is $2 per person after 8 people within the vehicle. If you are driving by yourself it is $4. If you are walking or biking in, it is $2 per person. There are also annual individual entrance passes available.
There is also a boat ramp available if you happen to bring your boat. The boat ramp fee is $5 plus tax, which is not included within your admission fee.
